Blue Nomad Announces the Release of WordSmith 2.01

Latest Edition of the Award-Winning Word Processor for the Palm™ Organizer Features Hi-Resolution FineType™ Font Technology for Monochrome Devices, Enhanced Printing Support, and More

REDWOOD CITY, CA (August 8, 2001) --  Blue Nomad, LLC announced today the release of WordSmith 2.01, the latest edition of its award-winning word processor, enhanced memo pad, and electronic book reader for the Palm organizer.

WordSmith 2.01 features several enhancements, most notably the extension of the benefits of Blue Nomad’s hi-resolution FineType font technology to monochrome device users. FineType is an innovative font and display option for Palm-based documents that allows users to import TrueType/outline fonts from their desktop computers (Windows only) and view those fonts on their devices. In addition, FineType enables users to view anti-aliased, high resolution fonts. The high resolution fonts make text crystal clear and sharper than ever. With the addition of FineType, only WordSmith combines rich text editing and display with hi-resolution fonts on Palm OS devices.

WordSmith 2.01 also offers enhanced printing support for InStep Print by The InStep Group, Inc. ( www.instepgroup.com ) and the ability to print rich text, formatted memos with a supported printing application. In addition, with Version 2.01 users can enjoy more e-book reader features, such as full screen paging and a preserve your eyes or “Take-A-Break” feature that is just what the doctor ordered. Other refinements include improved support for international characters in file names on the Macintosh and significantly faster hi-resolution FineType.
