Word processing and email solutions for consumer and corporate deployments

San Jose, CA (February 5, 2001) – At the PalmSource® Conference & Expo, the annual gathering of the Palm Economy, Blue Nomad, LLC and Corsoft Corporation today announced that WordSmith® is now supported by Corsoft’s Aileron^TM. With the integration between WordSmith and Aileron, users of Palm Powered® handhelds will now have a simple means of receiving rich document attachments via email.

One of the key challenges faced by companies deploying Palm Powered handhelds among employees is the conversion of files from Microsoft Word, the industry standard Word Processing for desktop PCs, to WordSmith, the leading Word Processing application for Palm Powered devices. The integration of WordSmith and Aileron provides a comprehensive solution to this challenge. Email messages with rich text attachments like Word, WordPerfect or any Rich Text Format will be seamlessly converted to WordSmith format on demand, before being delivered wirelessly to the handheld device.   Once received by the Palm Powered handheld users, the attachments can be viewed and edited fully.

Availability and Distribution

 Blue Nomad and Corsoft are offering solutions aimed at both individual users and enterprise deployments of Palm Powered handhelds. Individuals can subscribe to Corsoft’s email service starting at $30 per year and automatically receive the benefits of being able to receive Word attachments as WordSmith documents on their Palm Powered handhelds. In addition, corporations can install an enterprise-edition of Aileron Server on their corporate network and enjoy end-to-end security of the information being transmitted via the handheld devices. Corsoft Aileron Enterprise Server starts at $2,495 and includes a five-user Client Access License.  Additional licenses are available at $495 for a 10-set license pack.

 WordSmith is available for purchase online at Blue Nomad’s website (www.bluenomad.com) for $29.95 or for $23.99 (20% off) at the PalmSource Store during the PalmSource Conference and Expo.  Moreover, as part of the co-marketing agreement between Blue Nomad and Corsoft, the firms will each provide information and access to trial versions of both applications at their respective websites.
